Can't install windows 7 on samsung 840 evo SSD

grkswe

I have just finnished my build, the computer boots up and everything is ok.

When i try to install windows on my ssd it says: system was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition.

I create a system partition and then the same error comes up.

Any ideas guys? do i need to do something within the bios ?

Make sure that in the bios the ssd is set to AHCi mode.

Try to format the drive.

You could try to clean all the partitions and then make a one for  the installation.

Do you have other drives in the system? Are they all formatted to AHCI as well?

Make sure that the SATA port on your motherboard is the default intel one, not one of the ones that uses third party drivers. You can try to enable those SATA drivers in the BIOS.

delete any partitions within the win7 installer. for ssd you don't really want partitions. when it's all unallocated, highlight and click next.
