Yeah bud, that's the wrong CPU to try to overclock.. You won't get anywhere note-worthy. You might be able to give it such a slight nudge that you'll never even notice though.

On top of that, you would need a new CPU Cooler. The stock cooler won't do you any good for overclocking.

How about overclocking the GPU only?

Oh what application did you use for overclocking your GPU? and what's your CPU :)

Not to burst your bubble but H87 motherboards do NOT support overclocking.

That's sad, but why did they include features OC Genie and some overclocking settings in the bios if it will harm their H87 boards?

and another question, what if ill just OC the GPU, is it ok? :)

Intel really does not give a crap if you OC a GPU, the H87 restriction applies only to the CPU. Use OC Genie to run through the GPU overclocking process. Don't start a fire, either.

Did you gain noticeable FPS gain in games after overclocking the GPU? :)

It will depend if the GPU is being utilized to its fullest potential or not. The i3-4130 won't bottleneck a GTX 650 in any game that I know of. If you run the games you play with MSI Afterburner in the background. You can monitor GPU utilization in the charts on the MSI Afterburner main window. If its at a steady 99% while playing in the game, it means the GPU is being used at its fullest potential. Which also means if you overclock the GPU you will in fact see extra performance out of it in that particular game. Tho if your GPU isn't hitting the 99% area and is hovering around for example 75% utilization, that means the CPU is "bottlenecking" the GPU. So regardless to how much you overclock the GPU it will not improve frame rate.

That's an awesome explanation! thank you for taking your time explaining it to me.

hey, I just checked in MSI Kombustor and run GPU Burn in test, it says there that im using 97% of my GPU.

Overclock the GPU and run it again, do you still see around 97% utilization? And do you also see a frame rate increase? 97% is borderline of being utilized fully so you should see a performance increase in MSI Kombustor. Tho it is better to do this testing with the actual games you play and not a stress testing tool. MSI Kombustor will help you achieve a stable overclock, as its designed to put a huge load on the GPU.
