Which HDD to buy?

So my old WD Green 1.5TB External HDD die, and I want to switch to an internal HDD, and I want a 2TB HDD one, so which one should I choose between Seagate and WD? And what's the different between Green/Black/Red/Blue WD?

Blues don't exist in 2tb, greens are slow, reds are expensive and not very fast, blacks are amazing but expensive. Seagate is in the middle of everything.

Green for low power, but a hit in performance. Black for a bit more performance over Blue, but with a penalty in noise. Blue is best balance of performance and power consumption. Red is basically a Green tweaked to work best with NAS boxes.

 

Ultimately, it's up to you. Find a Seagate drive that meets your criteria and find a WD that does the same. Compare customer feedback of the two. Remember, people tend to only leave reviews if the product is A) really good or B ) really bad.

Green - Eco, less power consumption

Red - NAS systems

Blue - Normal use

Black - "High performance"

Buy the cheaper out of the Barracuda and WD Blue.

Hmm, looks like you can't well than the OP has the choice between an overpriced "performance" drive and a very decent well priced drive. You choose.

the barracuda wins over WD black in write and read speeds and the most important,sequential read but lose in the acces time. so yeah barracuda over black for price/perf and a clear winner over WD blue.as a boot drive the black is a lil better but for the rest of the stuff barracuda

OK then I will try to get a barracuda. I already have an SSD for booting anyway
