[Build Log] (Complete) Silverstone FT03 - Meet the Tyrant

Le Kat

this is my First Post on the Forum Here :)

i just changed my case from a Bitfenix Prodigy M to The Silverstone FT03 - Black Heres How things went.

Here was My Original Build..

20140208_155601_zpsaeff7b31.jpg

Here were the Specs

CPU - i5 4670k OC to 4.2ghz

CPU Cooler - Noctua L9i

PSU - RM 650w

GPU - ASUS R9-270x - OC to 1150 Mhz.

MOBO - ASUS Z87 Gryphon Motherboard m-ATX

RAM - 16gb Corsair Venegeance LP at 1600mhz

Case - Bitfenix Prodigy M.

HDD - 2TB WD Green Drive.

now for Comparison this is how the Bitfenix Prodigy M and the Silverstone Looked Side By Side.

IMG_20140320_113236_zps33fe3f84.jpg

The Silverstone is Taller but the Footprint is Smaller :)

So here were the Upgrades

1. EVGA GTX 770 CLASSIFIED

2. Noctua NH-U12P

3. TUF Armor for the Gryphon Motherboard.

So heres the Process.

After Putting the TUF Armor on the Motherboard and Mounting almost everything.

Here are the Internals

IMG_20140320_151709_zps15be1ed4.jpg

I removed the Bottom fan cause the EVGA GTX 770 Didn't Fit. I did mount 2  80 MM Fans on the bottom for more directional airflow and because for some the EVGA GTX 770 Classified is a Bloody Massive Card.

So here is After i mounted the fans and GPU. and Tried to Fix the Cable Managment. Sorry No Cable Management Pics I'm atrocious at it.

Now that this was done. You are Probably wondering how temps were.

So i Overclocked the GTX 770 to 1300mhz on the Core  and 7400 on the Memory Clock. (KEEP IN MIND this is on the LN2 Bios)

and Overclocked my i5 4670k from 4.2ghz to 4.5ghz and here are the Results after 30 Minutes of Running AIDA 64 Stressing the CPU and GPU.

UPDATE2_zps62a86b45.png

The GPU temps MAX were 79 Degrees and the CPU stood stable at 4.5ghz with an Average TEMP of 65C. :)

And heres the FInal Product :)

Yay! an FT03 build!!!! That case is so damn sexy. Nice job with it. I'm building in one of those soon, and seeing this build makes me unable to wait for when that time comes. How are the temps in that case?

Really nice man! I've taken quite a liken to that case. Just out of curiosity what are you going to be doing with your old Prodigy M?

@CtW The Temps are on this same thread. on the GTX 770 it didnt go past 80 degrees on the AIDA 64 Stress Test. It stood at 78 Degrees Tops. And for The i5 4670k at 4.5ghz it stood on average 65C

@DavidGordon Idk probably save it and make an HTPC in the Future I don't really plan on selling it cause I've Lost so many screws for it over the past couple of months. also on the sidepanel I have the Giant TUF Sticker than came with my motherboard on it so the asthetic is a bit ruined too. :(

Ah okay, if you do end up wanting to sell it let me know, I kind of want two prodigy's-one for either side of my monitor ahaha. As weird as that sounds :)

Just a note on how to use AIDA64. When load testing, you need to press "clear" about 10 seconds after the test starts, as having the 30 degree idle temperatures recorded skews the average temperature slightly.

Looks amazing! Love the case, but I really wish Silverstone would release a new revision of it, with panels that attach the same way the FT03 Mini attaches, by snapping on instead of "lifting off."

dem noctua fans.  Nice build

Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof.

As I get older I get angrier more cynical, meaner. I feel some warning posts coming. I feel a ban coming. I was warned.
