If it has to be the BW, get the 2013 one. The 2014 one has some weird Razer-wannabe-"mechanical"-switches. I'd not trust them.

If you want a good keyboard in that pricerange:

- Ducky Shine III

- Ducky Zero

- Cm Storm keyboards

- WASD Keyboards [you can even customise your keycaps]

- Filco

Frost upon these cigarettes.... lipstick on the window pane...

A lot of people don't trust razer because they're an absolutely massive company. As in, HUGE. The result is that there are a lot of bad customer service stories and faulty product stories. I don't have the numbers to know if they actually have problems but I suspect a lot of that is simply due to having THAT many customers. Their products are not bad (some are, but some are excellent as well) but you are often paying extra for the brand name.

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.

dont buy a black widow, i have owned two(bought the first one myself and got the other one as payment for a lan party ticket xD).  Both of them has gotten a pretty "loose" feeling when typing. I have also tried a ducky and would highly reccomend that or a filco :)

If you want a backlit keyboard and you can consider that price range you should get a Duck Shine 3. Are you set on having Blues/Browns?

I finally got to touch a DS3 (I own a DS2), and the stabilizers are sooooooooo much better on the new board. Unless you like having your stabilized keys feel like like rubber domes the DS3 is better than the DS2 by a long shot.

Go for that over a Razer board any day!

I had all Razer peripherals 3 years ago but all of theme died now except for my Razer Carcharias. Replaced them with Corsair peripherals now and the build quality is just amazing.

Either a Ducky Shine 3 or a Corsair K70 offer a better build quality than a BlackWidow. I don't think Razer is a bad brand, I use some of their products myself but the truth is in their price range, their keyboards should be more solid.
