So i got a preety nice pc i use for both work and gaming for the longest i used some 2400mhz ram i had laying around and now i saved up some money on the side to upgrade it. Now i heared ram speed and latancy make big diffrance on ryzen

So i found this going for a nice price

https://m.newegg.ca/products/N82E16820232728?ignorebbr=True

Thing is its latancy is high...c18

And i learnt this should be low too.

Is it good or should i get lower latancy ram with lower speed

Its a

1920x cpu

Asus gtx 1080

Asus prime-a x399 mobo

Thx

ram: 32gb G.SKILL Trident Z 3200 c14

psu: Antec HCP1300w Platinum (overkill i know...got it for a good price)

If you really want to get specific get B-die for Ryzen

Which is Trident Z CL14 3200mhz 16GB from G.skill anyways.

Wouldeny higher speed give me more then?

Even if little

The kit i linked is made for amd and its about the same price as a 3200 i think because of black friday.

The only thing i dont get is if the latancy will make stuff worse? Or those c18 and c16 wont differ too much and the 3600mhz will make stuff much better?

Higher speed doesn't matter if the latency is also a lot higher

If memory overclocking/tuning is something you want to do, First Gen Ryzen really just cares about having B-die memory and nothing else.

And the below video is just for extreme examples of speed:latency.

The 3600mhz RAM would still be faster in that case

Against 3200mhz CL14 it's more of a toss up

Anything made with Samsung B-Die is what you want

It's not any different than the RAM made for intel boards

That's what the video links were for

"B-die" is just a memory module that samsung makes

here's another list for it
https://www.overclock.net/forum/18051-memory/1627555-ryzen-memory-ic-collection-thread.html

This kit should be B-die, but is horribly overpriced, and happens to just be the cheapest still in stock on the part picker.
https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232530&nm_mc=AFC-C8JunctionCA&cm_mmc=AFC-C8JunctionCA-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10592396&PID=3938566&utm_medium=affiliates&utm_source=afc-PCPartPicker%2C+LLC&cjevent=c1279b18ef0111e8837002680a1c0e13

But B-die really only matters if you're going to be fine tuning your memory, or doing more extreme overclocking with it.

Otherwise just grab the cheapest 3000-3200mhz kit of memory
https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313778&nm_mc=AFC-C8JunctionCA&cm_mmc=AFC-C8JunctionCA-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10592396&PID=3938566&utm_medium=affiliates&utm_source=afc-PCPartPicker%2C+LLC&cjevent=e9adb3e4ef0111e880b6026d0a1c0e14

If you wanted the better memory at a maybe better price, try an overclocking specific forum.

Any 3000mhz or 3200mhz kit will be fine, the 3600mhz kit is fine, but you're unlikely to reach 3600mhz on first gen ryzen, unless it's B-die.

if you want to get into more extreme tuning/overclocking then you'll want memory made with B-die modules.

You can try overclocking any RAM, but 1st gem Ryzen needs/likes B-die to do well with it

Are the timings all matching like 16-16-16?  That is usually b-die.  If it's 16-18-18 then it's probably not.

Ideally you will lower timings and increase speed.  It's a dance.
