Don't buy no name brands off of aliexpress.

LTT did do a video talking about GPU's available on AliExpress...

 

Though personally I'd stay well away from these, they are designed for the Chinese market and they are NOT safety tested to European or North American standards.

the design reminds me of the Galax 1070 Katana... maybe this is what happens when you apply the same design to a half height 1050ti

it's not no name brands, just no fame in America or Europe. It's a not so common, but not rare brand in China

Safety standard requirements are totally separate from the above. You can comply with ATX and PCIe specs and still fail safety requirements. Also, safety isn't black and white. Meeting a safety standard doesn't mean nothing will go wrong, just that if it does, you have a better chance of lower negative impact.

Even if they didn't, really what's gonna be unsafe about them? If it had terrible voltage control it would likely kill itself and having a product that dies early on is not the hallmark of these Chinese aibs.

Ive got an ASL GT 1030, there's not much to say about it other than that it's a 1030, it has a cheap feeling bracket and the cooler is just extruded aluminum but it's a fully functional and otherwise normal 1030

 

People don't seem to trust these Chinese companies even though in order for them to make these GPUs for Nvidia or AMD they have to follow not just Nvidia/AMD standards but the standards of the countries they sell in.

Colorful and Maxsun produce just as high quality and reputable products as EVGA or Zotac, they're just not popular outside of China and the East Asian sphere.

A lot of these 'off-brand' Chinese electronic companies do show safety markings on their products (RoHS, CE, FCC & Kitemark) however these are fake and do NOT comply with those standards, the only standards they comply with are the Chinese standards and those standards are very weak compared. Any product sold with fake safety markings is illegal and this is why many ports seize containers of products potentially dangerous to the consumers (general public). At least with brands like Colorful their products do comply with the appropriate safety standards and do have genuine safety marks.
