overclocking ram beyond rated speed

Greetings,

I have one pair of 8 GB DDR4 adata D41 @ 2666 (http://www.adata.com/a/specification/552) on a H310 pro m2 MSI.

I wonder if I buy a Z370:

-Is it possible to overclock the RAM more than 2666 (lets say to 3000), even if the RAm is rated at 2666?

Thanks.

It seems to be rated for 2666 at 1.2V, so if you increase the voltage to eg. 1.35V, you should have pretty good odds of hitting higher speeds. Nothing's guaranteed though.

another thing to watch is latency when you start playing with the clock speed because both are important you want latency as low as possible with that high clock speed its why low CL ram is so expensive.
