Need assistance to decide

Am based in Kuwait - the monitors here are generally overpriced all year round

 

However right now there is a sale and the following two monitors are available for the same price:

ASUS VG278Q 27in 144hz

BenQ EX2300 32in 144hz curved

 

My rig is an i7 7600 and gtx 1070ti used mainly for gaming and uploading my plays on YouTube

 

Right now I am using a 32in HDTV 1080p

 

Don't mind 1080p at 32in really (was using a 40in TV until a few months ago as my monitor)

 

What I am undecided about

1. Curved?

2. How good is 144hz going to be over the 60hz I get right now

3. How good is the BenQ? Have found limited reviews on it. Unlike the Asus for which I found various reviews.

1. Depends, I myself don't like large or curved monitors for gaming overall.

 

2. In games, a lot better. Otherwise, not really noticeable.

1. I personally don't enjoy curved monitors. Just a preference, they weird my eyes out.

2. 144hz is much better than 60hz, especially for gaming. Looks so much better

3. BenQ has great monitors! Suprised you didn't find any reviews for it. However, I would personally go for the ASUS VG278Q.

Why don't you like curved/large for gaming?

I found the large screen help make games a lot more immersive

About curved - I haven't used one ever and that's why I am unsure if it offers any benefit or if it's just a gimmick

Would I lose significant screen real estate moving from 32in to 27in?

 

I wouldn't mind doing the ogss (hope I got that right) to increase the screen resolution to 1440p

Do you have any trouble spotting enemies in the distance when going for snipes or long range shots on a 27in screen?

No, instead I fail to reload right after I run out of ammo, losing precious time.
