Cooling! Argh! Help!

BiBiAhn

I've been sick to my stomach all day wondering how I should go about cooling in this build.

Questions:

1. Should I buy more fans

2. Should I buy an RGB air cooler for AESTHETICS

3. Should I buy a better performance cooler

4. Should I buy the H7-Quad Lumi and change the white lit fan?

5. Buy AIO and die of leaks?

I've mind blanked! Comment your thoughts and suggestions!

You could just get a aio cooler but besides that it looks like it has enough cooling even for minor overclocking

If you're buying an 8700 then I'd imagine you'd be fine with your current selection.

It's near impossible for it to leak and even if it did the liquid inside is usually not conductive so it wouldn't damage anything. But. I have had aios for awhile and I've even held a motherboard by the radiator before with no issues they can take a beating. Maybe if you did a custom watercooled loop then leaks should be worrying but aios are completely self contained

AIOs do leak (it's happened to me before), but not often. It's mostly the pump that dies in an AIO first.

Should I get different fans (If so, what would you recommend?) or more of the same ones?

The stock fans (GP12) are alright, I'd keep on using them but not buy more of the same fans.

If colour is not an issue I'd put Noctua F series fans on places with air filters, A series on other places. If colour is a problem, then Fractal's own HP12/14 shall do

What you have is fine but you could save some money with a cheaper cooler like a M9i: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/LPVBD3/cryorig-cpu-cooler-m9i

or PR Slim if you want something quieter: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/hyQRsY/be-quiet-pure-rock-slim-351-cfm-cpu-cooler-bk008

If it's a matter of aesthetics, go with whichever looks good to you.

I currently have a H7 Plus and It's loud as fuck, and I'd rather go for aesthetics as well. Do you think AIO is a good idea? I move my pc frequently (LANS and house) and both have their cons when it comes to damage. I would love your input

What are your temps and what rpm are you running the cpu fans at? The 8700 is easy to cool and the H7 Plus shouldn't be very loud at all.

H7 is a good choice, cange the fan if its to noisy, if u want to go better cooling just grab the king, NH-D15, and be done.

Dont get a AIO...please.

pretty solid build for something (dunna know why wasn't disclosed)

  1. depends on your comfort of the cooling once built
  2. if RGB is your thing, then spend the money
  3. more money for a small amount of thermal satisfaction
  4. see #2
  5. since you already have that mindset of leaks, then no.
