Hey everyone, in a few days I'll buy my new laptop after a series of dekstops.

I've got a basic Touro 500GB external drive that I just use for personal data backups and other crap like that since I always had a 2 or 3 terabyte HDD in the computer itself.

Since the laptop I'm buying has "only" 1TB of SSD storage and I'll use for audio production, I thought about buying a new external drive for backups of important data and also the old stuff that I already had.

I came across WD's Elements drive at a very good price and then I saw the WD My Passport for the same price even tho the Passport was actually heavily discounted from it's original price, both of them are 4TB.

Wha'ts the main difference, apart from the WD Utility app? Is there a significant difference in drive quality and of course, life expectancy?

Thanks!
