RX 580 Or GTX 1060

Kolbus

I am building a new pc with the ryzen 5 2600 and 16gb 3000MHz ram. The RX 580 Armour OC 8gb is priced at $300 CAD on amazon and the 1060 6gb are around the $360 CAD.

Which card should I Go for?

See if you can find an RX 590 at the same price as the 1060.

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

If there's only MSI Armor flavour of both cards, I'd get the 1060 6gb as long as price difference is within 20 CAD. The cooler is alright on the 1060, but a bit disappointing on an RX 580.

Which card should I Go for?

Check Newegg CA, the RX 580 comes with your choice of 2 from Resident Evil 2 Remake, DMC 5, or the divison 2 i guess...

May be US only not sure

RX 570/580 in any event due to free-sync savings, but buy something with a better cooler than the armor card.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

As usual, my suggestion depends on your monitor.  If you have a G-Sync monitor, go 1060.  Have freesync, go AMD.

If you don't have a monitor and you plan on budgeting for one with your new graphics card, then like @Streetguru said, you can some $$$ on the monitor with freesync and put the savings into your GPU.

The game offer is not a newegg thing and other retailers have it as well.  Both Canada Computers and Amazon CA have the promo listed.

OP, you should be able to find the RX 580 Saphire Nitro+ on Amazon for $329 8GB and $275 for 4GB (CAD prices) .  I would get those over the Armour.

Ryzen 2600 - Sapphire Pulse Vega 56 - Corsair Vengeance LED DDR4 3000 C15 2x8GB - Corsair Force MP500 NVMe PCIe M.2 240GB - 2x Seagate Barracuda 2TB -

AsRock B450 PRO4 - Deepcool Earlkase Case -  Seasonic Foucus+ 650
