The first thing I want to say is that I already have a decently powerful Elitebook that I would use for more intensive applications and a very powerful desktop at home. The second thing I want to make very clear is that this is not a laptop/desktop replacement. What I'm looking for is something that has Chromebook-like hardware (weak CPU, not much RAM or storage, but a very long battery life), but doesn't have Chrome OS, a funky keyboard layout, or any of the other quirks Chromebooks have. Make sense? I know this is a weird thing I'd like, but it would be a laptop equivalent of a burner/backup phone; I don't have to care about it getting lost or stolen, I can just toss it in my bag and forget about it, etc. So far, I've found the Pinebook, but with the BTO queue, I don't know how long it would take to get one.

TL;DR: I want a cheap, Chromebook-like laptop (weak hardware, long battery life). I've found the Pinebook but I'm not quite sure about availability.

Thanks!

I did exactly that for a friend who just needed a system for schoolwork and its running perfect for it.

Probably should've mentioned that I don't want a Thinkpad...again, I already have an Elitebook with, in this case, a better CPU, and I want something with good battery life.
