looking for imap and smtp

johnyb98

Please, I would like your help as follows...

If an email address indeed exists, and:

a. you are not the one that manipulates domain

b. you do not know the rent company (e.g. GoDaddy, etc)

c. it's not one of mails like gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc.

So, without all these information, is it possible (and if yes, how, please) to find imap and smtp servers of this address?

Example:let's say address is s m i t h @ p r o n t o s . c o m

And you have no other information, can you find p r o n t o s . c o m imap and smtp?

Thank you !

Here you go: https://mxtoolbox.com

You can look up MX records for the mailservers. You can even run a test against the SMTP server if you have an e-mail address.

There are ways to test, what are you using it for?

The IP is 23.23.174.132 and belongs to Amazon Inc at this moment.

So smp and imap servers if located on the same machine will be on the IP i mentioned above. Most likely this is a VPS.

Example on this can be hostname imap.prontos.com and smtp.prontos.com

Having email address and password of a friend, I was not able to setup his mail account in MS Outlook. I had not the infomation of imap and smtp serrvers. I could not communicate him to give me this information, so, I was trying to find it myself. Finally, the problem was that he had given me wrong password. Now, everything is just fine.

Thank you all for your time, answers and precious help, knowledge and information !!
