Ryzen R7 1700 or 2600

I'm building a sff editing / gaming machine to bring with me on my trip to canada. 

I'm using a msi b450i gaming plus ac for the board, I'm thinking of using the 2600 or the 1700 since I can pick up one in a second chance pc shop for the same price as the 2600.

Should I go for the new 2600 or the second hand 1700

Hope I get to see Mr Linus in Canada or even Mr Luke

You would be better off going with the 1700 for the 8 core 16 thread over the 6/12 of the 2600 for video editing.

Yeaa that would be great, selling T's from the warehouse so you might get a discount perhaps. They are drop shipped, so whatever Lman has on the premises, say 25% for superfans.

 

Other then that, maybe you are more interested in gaming so which one would have a higher ipc rate, higher frequency, buy that one.
