Which CPU for 2x 1080Ti?

I will buy a second 1080Ti but I think my i7-7700k won't be enough power.... What CPU do you guys recommend?

Assuming it's 4k 60hz, then the 7700k will be fine since you're not driving high refresh rate monitor. Though, a single 1080Ti should average 60FPS at 4k in most games anyway.

Edit: I'm not sure with Blender tasks.

There will always be a bottleneck. At one point it just moves over to the GPU.

Best CPUs without changing platforms would be something 9700k or 9900k.

ok thanks

9700k and 9900k are not compatible with Z170/Z270 motherboards.

With that sort of budget look at the Threadripper CPUs with an X399 motherboard.

Crap, I messed up Z270 and Z370. Thanks.

No CPU upgrades on that platform for the OP.

This guy is in Austria, so he's probably talking Euros. Just so you guys know. I've used blender before and it seems to be quite heavy on the CPU, so you might want something with more cores.
