Is this a virus or something

So my mom, has this weird as problem she puts one of her flashdrives in the computer does her job and then its suddenly it like incrits or something. And 5 pictures she had in one of the folders are now folders and random as files. Witch were never there in the first place. So my be you can help because i realy dont have clue what in hell that is....

It looks like the drive is corrupt.

No you can't recover anything from this, you'd just be recovering the corrupt files. To get it working again try and format it in Windows but if it fails you may need to use some recovery software to re-program it and clear any corrupt data from it.
