ram Ram Issue

hi everyone

 

i have a ram issue on my pc
This is my spec

Intel i5 4590
Gigabyte GA H97 Gaming 3 
Patriot Viper 16gb 1600Mhz (8gb *2 kit)

 

my both rams are working fine , dual channel works 800mhz only (400mhz each ram)

single channel works 1600mhz and only one ram slot works

if i use both rams as single channel then pc restarts at windows log in , i used this way before , and its not happening anymore
i tried 2 different rams from another pc , same story , pc restarts at windows log in
i reset windows 10 , same story
i even put my ssd on another pc and my windows works fine on that pc
i tried XMP profile 1 and manual change to 1600Mhz , same issue 
reset my bios and updated bios and no fix 
i ran memtest and no errors found

 

only way to get to the desktop is either 1 ram (single channel) at 1600mhz or 2 rams (dual channel 400mhz*2)   

i did a valley benchmarks for single and dual channels, there's a big gap in benchmark score 

 

what is this issue ? is it MB , Cpu or ram ?
can anyone help me on this ?

try reset CMOS, then run dual channel

You can also try to update your BIOS/UEFI.

@Jurrunio if i reset cmos , first i have to use one ram stick only , then i have to manually set it to 800mhz to use dual channel

no . it doesnt get 1600mhz dual channel , dual channel works at 800mhz only

I said 'separate', in single channel with either stick on both RAM slots

it used to work that way till last sunday , now i cant use both ram , only one ram at 1600mhz

can i test cpu's memory controller ? any software ?

no software, need new mobo and RAM to test.

you can try, but make sure you put thermal paste when you test. If you want to save on thermal paste, you can use toothpaste instead.

i forgot to tell u , i ran Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool today and all test pass, no errors ,

there is IMC test , thats memory controller yeah :?

does that mean my cpu/memory controller is good ?

that tool is far from conclusive
