Which Video Card?

Im planning on a new build with a Ryzen 7 2700x on a Gigabyte - X470 AORUS GAMING 7 WIFI ATX AM4 Motherboard. I was originally planning on getting a gtx 1080 ti, most likely the gigabyte Aorus or EVGA one, but the prices right now are crazy high. Im thinking it may be better to go for a 2080 instead since it has similar performance and ive found them to be much cheaper right now. My plans are to get it running in this setup but upgrade to 2 graphics cards with sli and fully water cooled eventually. 

Any advice on which card to get that will eventually be paired with sli?

Any advice on a different motherboard or cpu I may have missed?

one higher end GPU is better than two lower end GPUs, so get a 2080ti instead of getting 2 2080s

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB 

138 is a good number.

I dont have the money for a 2080ti right off the bat. I might honestly just wait and save for a 2080ti but its also very overpriced right now and would prefer buying 1 2080 now and another later for similar performace to the 2080ti and similar price if not cheaper

still the old saying, do not go multiple GPUs unless it's already the fastest single card.

Why not just get a 1080 or a 2070 and overclock, what do you plan to do with dual graphics cards?
