I want to know what the best thickness of thermal pads for cooling my graphics card

Stay frosty my friend and have a good time

most use .5mm or 1.0mm on components

Depends on the pad. Some don’t have the same amount of play. Also different parts require a different size, same with using different coolers. 

 

Like stock nvidia pads will be 2.5-3mm.
