I don't know if this is the correct place to post it but a friend got a new case and it smells awful, don't know what it is but smells like a mix of cheap pesticide and burnt plastic, the smell was noticeable when we took the case out of the box and while assembling all of the parts but it got way worse once the fans started spinning and now is literally everywhere on his place, windows are open and there's air coming inside the room but the smell won't go away. Do you think it'll just go away with the use? I used my wife's perfume to mask the smell but it won't go away

btw the case has 1 intake and 1 exhaust

If it's a cheap case, it might just be cheap plastic. Just let it air out.

You can always do an O-zone cleaning of some kind but it will kill every living thing in the area until oxygen returns.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

I would suggest turning it on and throwing it in a lake. This should help it smell better and will make it nice and clean. Make sure you have it on and plugged in because otherwise the fans wont spin the water in.

All jokes aside, its most likely just cheap plastic that is giving it that smell. I would suggest just letting it run for a while until the smell is gone.

idk tbh

That'd be why.

You get what you pay for. Just let it air out. Off-gassing happens with a lot of plastics.
