Beats solo 3 left ear not working.

So i am attempting to fix my headphones. The left headphone only works when i am holding it at a certain angle. I checked all the wires and they all seem to be in tact. But then i noticed the the board that the wires are connected to and saw a big white spot. I am wondering is this water damage or is it supposed to be like this. Picture down below

are you sure it's not a problem in the connector? Usually when headphones go bad it's because the wires break off inside the connector.
