Amazon plans to split to HQ2 to Long Island City and Crystal City

After many months of Amazon searching a city for their HQ2, it seems that they have finally made up their mind on two cities: Long Island City in NYC and in Crystal City, VA. This means big news for anyone living in the cities as it could offer well-paying jobs to people in the tech field and give a great economic boost to the city and state.

The company is nearing a deal to move to the Long Island City neighborhood of Queens, according to two of the people briefed on the discussions. Amazon is also close to a deal to move to the Crystal City area of Arlington, Va., a Washington suburb, one of the people said. Amazon already has more employees in those two areas than anywhere else outside of Seattle, its home base, and the Bay Area.

I personally think this is a great opportunity for cities with a rather small tech sector to boost their economies and up to 25,000 well-paid jobs. As a New Yorker, I would definitely love to have Amazon move into the area, so if there is a job listing that suits my specialty, I'll probably take the job myself.

well there goes the neighborhood ,traffic is already bad enough in queens now  i guess the  mayor of NYC will get this tram thing now along the waterfront of queens and Brooklyn more money down the drain only will take 10 years to build

Personally i think its a terrible plague for whatever city gets pwned by Amazon. Its a great opportunity for corrupt politicians to line yheir pockets at taxpayer expense and ruin the economy with the further Amazoning and Walmarting of the USA.
