Speaker port on pc being weird

ive had this pc sense april, ive never had a problem with the speaker port untuil today when i randomly started to hear a little buzzing and cracking i thought nothing of it and thought it would go away but it wouldnt and it just got lounder and more frequent, so i decided to try my speakers on my phone, there was no bezzing there, then i tried on the front port of my pc, no buzzing there either, i have no idea what to do, any ideas??

What kind of Motherboard does your PC have?

This is a common side effect of poorly shielded audio chipsets on cheaper motherboards, it'll also explain why your front port and phone don't have the buzzing either. 

 

That, or there's dust in your audio jack. I got my LG G4 for $75 because the "headphone jack sucked" when all that was wrong with it was a bunch of dust in the jack.

i have the Asus - ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard, and ill check for dust somehow lmao

Do you have an NVidia GPU? A quick google shows that a few other people have had this issue.

 

Just try disabling your NVidia GPU in device manager then reenable it.  Seems like Windows is trying to use your GPUs sound chip by default and the audio crackling you're hearing is the latency of it needing to be sent back over the PCIe to your audio jack.

i tried disabling an enabling it (assuming it was the 1080 ti listed under display adapter) and im still getting the cracking this is quite weird

Update your BIOS, remove the current Asus audio crap (Sonic Radar and Sonic Studio), remove the current Realtek drivers, install the latest from Realtek site.

 

If ALL of that doesn't work there might just be a shielding issue inside your PC. You could RMA it if you feel like wasting time, or you could continue just using your front headphone port instead.

You might even be able to just straight up use a different port on the back since you have 8ch audio and aren't utilizing surround sound.

I have no idea how to do that, but it makes sense logically.
