Macros

I have a gaming mouse with 16 buttons, and keyboard with a few extra buttons. I'm new to video editing and want to create macros. Rather than doing this in the software (don't know if you can) is their any 3rd party software I can use to set different macros for different software?

You can use AutoHotkey to set program specific macros, but you still need to use the supplied software to access the macro buttons.

AHK can't see your special mouse button, but in your mouse program you can set special mouse button 1 to Ctrl+Shift+Alt+F1 and setup AHK to look for that combination of buttons to do whatever string of commands you want in whatever program.
