Type c to DP

Dumb question, but if I wanted to plug a monitor into my XPS 13, would I get a type C to Male or Female DP? I'm not bothered about it being active either as its going to be getting plugged and unplugged a lot.

If you want to use the monitor on your XPS 13 (which I assume has a type C output) you need a type C male (that plugs into your XPS) to a male DP (which plugs into the monitor).

 

Remember that all display/video cables are always male to male. Don't say that DVI or VGA is not because the pins are male.
