So I have an asus dual of gtx 1060 3gb with a 1080p asus monitor 1ms flicker free 60hz and my dad is able to get an MSI OPTIX G24C 24"CURVED 24" Class , 24" Actual 1920x1080,2ms,16:9,144Hz HDMI,DP1.2 1800R CURVE it’s supposed to be wide screen anyways should I get a msi rx580 8gb it’s on eBay for $180 and the person said it was never mined or anything of those sorts thanks

I don't understand, is your dad gonna be using the new monitor thus needing a GPU? Or are you swapping out your current one?

 

If you're just changing monitors, no a 580 performs around the same as a 1060.

id be VERY careful of cards on ebay if you are young and not knowing what to look for. Make sure the seller is legit, has a good selling history in the past few months. Never buy from anyone who hasnt sold a single item, nor posts legit pictures instead of stuff found on the web.

 

1060 3gb should be able to get that done even with its downsidess,  580 8gb would offer a fair bit better performance, but for like 40$ more you could get a GTX 1070 and get a lot better performance if your PSU has enough wattage

Not much of an upgrade in terms of performance. It'll only be a very slight step up.

 

I recommend selling the 1060 and getting a 1070/1070ti.

Still not worth it IMO.

 

Sell 1060 and get a Vega 56
