CPU dead?

Hello. I have an MSI Z170A mobo and a Pentium G4400 which I bought new today. It booted fine. No issues. I restarted for drivers and it failed to boot. I now get the MSI EZ Debug CPU LED. Onve I press the power button, the CPU LED flashes and fans spin very briefly every 5 or 6 seconds in a continuous loop. 

 

I have the cooler (Corsair H60) off right now. If I diconect the CPU power and press the power button, the CPU LED and fans will stay on constantly.

Take motherboard battery out for a minute and put it back in, turn on the system. Then take one ram stick out and try to boot, then replace it with the one you took out and boot again. You may not want to try different sata port for your boot drive also, see if this works.

Have you reseated the CPU?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Yes. I have cleared CMOS as well as taken the battery out multiple times. I have also tried One RAM stick in every slot as well as every slot combination with two sticks.

The fact that no power to CPU gives a solid LED and constant fans, probably saying no CPU detected, and with power it flashes in a loop leads me to believe that the CPU is dead.

Hold power button and restart button together until system powers down. Then hold for 10 seconds longer. After that, just turn on the system. Check if this works.

This did not work. I tried it with and without RAM.
