Hey guys,

Am building a PC, here are my components:

CPU - 8th Gen i3-8100

GPU - GTX 980

MOBO - TB decided

PSU - Some 650W PSU

HDD/SSD - Some 1TB HDD or 250GB SSD, doesn't matter too much

Case - TB decided

Everthing else is either to be decided or already confirmed.

Will my GPU be bottlenecked?

What COMPATIBLE mobo should I use?

What reasonably sized case should I use?

Thanks for any suggestions!

do you have any of the components yet, or all new? whats your budget?

No, I'm still planning all of this. My budget is around $600 BUT a friend is gifting me the GTX 980 and the PSU.

Yeah, that would be nice to have but within the budget. Overclocking capability would also be pretty nice.

Often, people with experience also recommend shitty PSUs.

You should check with him to see if you need to allocate a budget to that.

Ok, thanks, but do you, or anybody else have any idea what mobo or case I should get or should I determine everything before?

On the cheap? The MasterCase Q300L and a H310 motherboard of your choice.

Sorry for any inconvenience, but I switched from the i3-8100 to a Ryzen 5 1600, and motherboard Asus ROG x370-f.

Any other cases?
