Audio Setup Recommendations

By no means am I an expert, but I figure I'd post this to help people who don't know where to start.

Audio Interface

Entry Level: Scarlett Focusrite Solo (2nd Gen)

Professional: Audient iD14

Broadcasting Microphone

Entry Level: Shure SM58

Professional: Shure SM7B, Electrovoice RE20

Mic Pre-Amp

* DBX 286s (comes w/ full Channel Strip)

* Triton Fethead or Cloudlifter (Compact)

Headphones

Entry Level: AKG K240

Mid Range: Sennheiser HD598's

Speakers

Entry Level: Presonus Eris 3.5"

Professional: JBL 305, M-Audio Bx-series, Yamaha HS5's/8's

For a regular room, 5" speakers are totally fine (8" might be overkill)

Power Conditioner

If noise interference is an issue with mic's, the Furman power conditioner (even the entry-level $50 on Amazon)

can clean up the signal if ground loop is a problem, apart from offering the other benefits of a power strip

DAW

Reaper is plenty for voice work/broadcasting/streaming; fair price, generous trial.

Studio One and Logic Pro (mac) are great.  All of the major DAW's are viable for professional work honestly.

considering that so many broadcasting setups have rgb and such, but are still using a generic headset mic or a blue snowball, it's worth adding a mic section

Then make a mic setup guide, but it needs to be more detailed than this and with more options. Saying that there just is 1 entry level and 1 "professional" isn't going to cut it.

Not to be mean, but so far this screams to me that you only have experience with a very limited selection of gear, which is fine, but you really should get some more experience and maybe not call things for like professional, because that is misleading.

A good idea would be to add a small text to each mic and interface that tells you something about how it sounds and what features it has and then maybe also add a price tag to it. I would also advise you to not do both mics and studio monitors in one post, it just gets messy and very long. Especially since it seems like you have a fairly limited experience.

You can always ask a member or a friend to help you make such a list.

Anyways best of luck and expect to put some hours into it:)
