any dual core with 4GB+ will run Feed the Beast fine I had an old FTB server running off an old Acer laptop of mine with a 2Ghz dual core cpu and 3GB of RAM it worked quite well

You don't need that much hardware. You could just use 8 gigs of ram and some cheap hard drive that is at least enough to hold Windows and that's it. You also don't need a video card to run the server because it's not actually rendering the game.

true id use the hdd for windows and back up the ssd would be for the server so i dont get any major lagg or stuff that the server can keep up or anything

i ran a MC server in my laundry room for over a year, i allocated 1gb of ram (would of allocated more, if that  pc had more) it has a Pentium something or other dual core @ 3.7 with the internal GPU. It ran a server fine with 3 ppl. A rule of thumb a vanilla server with NO lag 256mb per person. A MC server with plugins 256mbs per person with a extra 512mb for the server/plugins it self. so a plugins server needs 1gb for 2 ppl. A FTB server (vanilla) with 3-4 ppl would easly run with 1.5-2gb ram. Use the crappyest gpu u have or the internal one, because its just a server right.

Nope, Ubuntu installs take about 5GB space on the drive, and MC Server files are almost always less than 1GB.

Yes, but it wouldn't matter either. I run a FTB server from my 1TB HDD while playing it with my sister and cousin on the same machine in my sig and it never stuttered because of the speed of the storage. Hell, I have even run it on my Mac Mini no problem.

Nope, especially since a ReadyCache SSD can only be used as a caching drive (helps speed up HDDs by temporarily storing most used files on it, wouldn't help you a bit.)

Try Wine.
