Wasn't sure what would be the right forum for this so general seemed like the best option. I've recently run out of space on my Xbox, and I've been trying to come up with a quick way to fix this. I have the console at my desk along with my PC, so my thought is potentially putting a spare 1TB drive from my dead laptop in my PC, and then connecting to my xbox via USB. My issue with this is that I don't know if/how it would work to set this up.... software wise that is, I am able to put the drive in the computer.

If you get a usb to sata enclosure, you can use your old laptop drive as a normal external hdd. Get something like this https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-Tool-free-Enclosure-Optimized-EC-UASP/dp/B00OJ3UJ2S/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1540589269&sr=8-8&keywords=usb+to+sata
