SSD & HDD help please

just got my new pc today and have 250 ssd plus 1tb hdd, I was installing everything and this was going on the SSD, I have this just for windows so how do I make the hdd the default drive for downloads, installs and everything else??

It depends on the application, for example in Chrome you need to manually select the folder you want to use for its downloads. Some other applications once they are installed they automatically select the location under the same installation folder, so if it is installed in the HDD chances are that the downloads will continue to download there, however, there is always the chance to change manually the location folder for the downloads of almost everything. You will need to go into the settings of your games and etc.. to point the downloads to the HDD.

I know for steam it has a popup window asking where you want the game to go before it starts to download the game.

I will also add that there are some platforms that dont allow you to set a specific drive as a download drive.  Battlenet is like this.

 

Steam is one of the most flexible in my testing.  I can even run steam games directly off my storage server across my network and it doesnt complain one bit.   EA origin and uPlay, especially the Epic launcher and battlenet hate this.
