AIO placement question

Hey guys thanks for your advice. I rotated the radiator around and it seems much nicer now. I did have to remove the back fan out of the way though but I don't think that will affect things too much. It was a smidghen in the way.

And the thermal paste is brand new from the block itself, I didn't reapply, just rotated, and benchmarks and idle temps are the same! So I should be good for awhile.

Thanks guys! Appreciate it!

Hi guys.

I just upgraded my AIO to the riing 360 by Thermaltake. My processor was hitting 100c on stress tests so I knew my current cooler wasn't working well if at all. Idle temps were hitting like 50c. I installed this one and now on stress tests I only hit 64c on top temp limits which is great.

However when installing the block onto the processor, the water tubes nearly weren't long enough and so the block is sideways, and there may still be some strain being placed where the tubes connect to the radiator, everything seems fine now but I wonder if that stress may cause some bending over time? I took a photo of how I have it oriented. Is there any problem with it being oriented like this? Thanks!

The block is fine being mounted pretty much however you want, but I would be careful to not put any tension on the tubes. It’s fine if the tubes are just stiff and don’t bend well, but if you’re barely making it fit, stretching the tubes to mount the rad, then that’s different.

Block is fine being mounted sideways. Tube tension is fine as long as they're not elastic tight and tugging on your block.

Silly question, but why not turn the radiator 180' and put the tube entry at the back of the case? Then you'd be able to have your block oriented properly.

I guess because the other cooler I had also had the tubes in that direction.

Do you think that I can move the block by twisting it without having to reapply thermal paste? Probably will have to now which is a shame.

It should be fine as long as the tubes don't get any kinks in them

Yeah the tubes are just full length out, they  can't kink at all. I am mostly concerned about the strain where the tubes meet the radiator as there may be some strain there particularly.

very nice. looks much cleaner now. In a similar situation, i had to remove a 140mm rear exhaust fan for my loop. It won't be any issue for your temps. If you notice you have negative pressure, you may just want to set your intake fan curves higher than the exhaust, or add a dust filter where your old fan used to be
