Im trying to install a new PSU into a prebuilt, and if I get one with a traditional fan placement I cant face the fan up because theres no vent, and I cant face it down because it would suck in the hot air from the CPU cooler

As long as you get one that has a temp rating that isn't horrible there shouldn't be much of an issue with sucking in the CPU air. Plus it's not like the 6400 uses THAT much power or anything

As stated it won't matter if the PSU pulls air from inside the case and considering it's 5 dollars more expensive than something like this:

That's not hot at all plus it's not like the air around the CPU is 53C that's just the CPU temp. The air around it is probably 35C max

if you dont worry about looks that much (no side panel on the prebuilt) then get one that would suck in air from the case such as a evga 400w psu for about $30 on amazon and if you are worried about temps then dremel out a hole at the back and use paper to create an air raceway from the fan to the hole you just cut. cheap cheerful and would work fine. in my honest opinion however 53 degrees on the cpu is cool and you would have no problems just fitting a normal psu with the fan facing the motherboard and making sure that you have maybe 1 case fan at least.

Have a nice day:)

There are none.

Sadly you have to settle with one that has the fan on the bottom.

I am grateful to you for the information.
It is true that it is not the best source of seasonic, but it is cheap, but you can not ask for it. I believe that it fulfilled its task. It is possible that it is still working today. My current source of food is far superior in all aspects , but I remain true to that brand (Seasonic).

What's the reasoning or benefit of restricting yourself to one brand only?

I could never understand people or my friends who buy things like this. One guy only buys LG TVs, because "my first TV was an LG and it works good, so I'll keep buying LG". The other one does the same with Samsung TVs, because "I had a Samsung and it was good so I only buy Samsung". People are like that with phones, cars, power supplies, graphics cards, any consumer brand ever.

That's an outright lie and propaganda from your end.

According to my information, Seasonic isn't that reliable.
And you see tons of people in forums complaining about issues with Seasonic PSU (ticking sound, bad fan, rebooting under load).

And also the french,m when they did their Return numbers, they never showed Seasonic at the best, there were some where seasonic was the worst and had an abysmal 5-6% return rate.

And there's a couple of people who had 5-6 Seasonic models - mostly because of crappy fans...

So no, Seasonic isn't the "most reliable" as you claim, nobody is as that changes and depends on the model!

But its safer to assume that FSP and Delta is more reliable than Seasonic, on average/overall.

Blessed Hardware.fr with its list of returns, it is a pity that this site will cease to exist, and in honor of the truth after seeing the percentage of failures of some sources repeatedly every 6 months I thought that maybe my next update would be FSP or Antec.

Anyway my current source Seasonic G-Series Gold I do not think it is bad at all, after seeing some reviews, you will be criticized the price, which is not silent slats but is very well built.

I think you are right it all depends on the models, but my preference in PSU will always be towards manufacturers, not towards those who make orders.

It's true, I'm just saying that it did not give problems for two and a half years for a low-consumption system. Replace it working. Are there better offers? Of course.

...wich is nonsense because the ones "who make orders" can choose from the best manufacturers and Plattforms and thus have better products than the ones that make their stuff themselves.

Look at Cougar, wich is a devision of HEC/Compucase, what they had. They don't have a Platinum PSU, they only have lower end Bronze stuff and some mid range/low end Gold stuff.

Or look at Seasonic. Everything below 750W and/or the Focus is crap.

Because you fuck yourself with an inferior product because you stuck with one manufacturer for no reason that doesnt have the best of the best in that price range.

Especially when you look at the time, some companys might have been the best 10 or 20 or 30 years ago and today are just 08/15 Standard stuff that isn't any better than anything else - or worse.

One Example would be Enermax. They were at the top in the early to mid 2000s but couldn't keep up with the market or handle the R&D Cost needed for the good stuff.

And their Triathlor was freaking loud the (500 and 600W) Platimax looked really cheap but they're mostly more expensive than the competition - even with the same product.

Or in Home entertainment look at Grundig (wich isn't even Grundig no more)...

There's a ton of examples where a once awesome company lost its edge and became mediocre at best or at worst mostly does crap and is not worth the money...

ok, for my own sake I will change my way of thinking about this subject. I think it really is silly to give up the options of EVGA, Corsair etc.

The opinions of people in the forums are important, because it is almost always based on experience, so if you see a lot of people who say to you, hear my PSU X exploded, then there is no reason to buy the PSU X.

Is there a site that publishes about "product returns" as it did Hardware.fr?

When I have a free time I will check this site https://www.computerbase.de that I did not know of its existence.

I think this site is good enough to review the characteristics of PSUs by brand and model:

http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/PSUReviewDatabase.html

In what reference do you support yourself to affirm that the Seasonic PSUs are bullshit? I have seen you affirm more than once that they are behind the competition. Also the Focus is bad?, Who has shown that?
