Horrible audio on Linux Mint

I recently installed Linux Mint Cinnamon 19 and so far it's been working fine except for one big issue: not only is the audio I have super quiet, but it sounds pretty bad...it's gross and distorted and just not fun to listen to. The only thing I've tried is using a command called Alsamixer which turned out to be the reason my audio wasn't working at all (it was muted :P). Thoughts? Thanks!

Go to Settings and then Sound. There should be a Profile option, I have noticed that when I connect a Bluetooth speaker that there are two options, and one of those sounds like complete ass while the other one is perfectly fine.
