Turning off display without killing background processes

My phone has an oled panel. how can I turn off my display while still running YouTube in the background so that I can listen to music.ie  when I put it in standby mode I want to the music to be heard but at the same time the display must be off. Is there any sort of app or settings that will help me with this?

Afaik there's a YouTube music app now. 

 

But with standard YouTube, it doesn't work.

You can only play audio in the background if you shill out for YouTube premium.

I remember that if you opened the youtube video in the browser not the app, then you could turn off the screen and it would still play, no youtube premium needed.

It worked with firefox i think.

I meant y as "yes" but okay.

I tested on chrome and samsung default browser and yeah it doesnt work anymore.
