So besides the fact of the brand is there anything really bad about having a 1000 watt psu instead of say an 850 Incase I plan on overclocking more

With 80+ Bronze or Gold operating costs may be a tad higher as actual consumption will more often than not be at the lower end of the efficiency curve.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
