Hey guys,

I've got an i7-870 2.9 GHz from an old build. The motherboard was fried on the old build, but I saved everything else. I've upgraded since this incident, but I'm looking to build a second desktop with my old 1050 ti and the i7. However, I can't seem to find an lga 1156 motherboard on any site except for ebay, but I'd rather not purchase from there. If anyone knows where to get one of these boards I'd love to hear it.

just make sure you have buyer protections and even if you get fucked youll get your money back and most likely keep the item

There are loads of LGA 1156 boards on eBay. The OEM ones are dirty-ho cheap more often than not, and eBay's buyer protection will protect you if you get a dead board.

Alternatively, you can shop locally at thrift shops, yard sales, etc., and see if you can get your hands on a cheap LGA 1156 OEM system with a motherboard you can yank. I've gotten LGA 1156 HPs as cheap as $5 before at yard sales, with $25 being a more realistic price.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

There's no reason not to buy from eBay unless you've been screwed again and again. Of course, the reason is then that you have no idea what you're doing when it comes to buying used goods.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?

eBay your best option.

You could also try other online stores but YMMV.

On such store is AliExpress. Heard about them from the YT channel Tech Yes City which does a lot of videos on old PC parts like Socket 1336 and 1156 systems.

CPU: Sempron 2500+ / P4 2.8E / P4 2.6C / A64 x2 4000+ / E6420 / E8500 / i5-3470 / i7-3770
