I am trying to use a secondary 4k display with my laptop. By default the laptop uses the intel integrated graphics, which is not powerfull enough to even play a yt video upscaled to 4k. Luckily howerver my pc also has a gtx1050. Does anyone know of a way to always use the dedicated GPU for the external display?

I have tryed ajusting the bios, but i haven't found an option for only using the dedicated GPU.

You can't, because the dGPU isn't connected to any display output (it displays things by copying its frame buffer to the iGPU's) You might be able to find a way to force the application running the video to run on the dGPU instead and hope that works.
