I was wondering, if i buy the pro version of my current OS will it give some control back to me?

An update was just pushed through on my PC even though i have my internet flagged as a metered connection, it downloaded and updated, installed Windows update assistant, Microsoft Edge and fucked my search bar up and put Cortana there again.  I don't care that Windows 10 is free, i'd rather pay for it and not have shit like this happen to me, every time an update is forced onto me i feel like it takes me a while to change things back to how i had them and turn off the things MS turned back on (privacy, data gathering etc).

I really miss my old PC with Windows 7 pro  ?

Windows 10 Pro can defer certain updates, but it's only temporary. You can't stop Windows Update on any version, except when you with an LTSB (now LTSC) release, which stays on a certain build of Windows for 10 years.

Oh ok, thanks :(

I think a portion of it is just me not knowing this OS as well as previous ones, i felt like i really knew my way around them inside and out but now its all different.  Just a simple thing like the clicking on the search bar at the bottom, before it only searched stuff within my computer now Cortana and a bunch of search suggestions, set a reminder etc all pops up where it never did before, been in and out of so many settings trying to make it go away and i cant seem to make it just go back to how it was before.
