Mechanical keyboard for mac

I'm looking for a mechanical keyboard that will be supported by mac os x. I use my mac for programming, not gaming. I have tried corsair k95, but mac support was really none existing ( I had to use a different keyboard to log in). Now I use the original black apple keyboard, but I like mechanical clickiness more. Can you recommend something?

The Azio Retro classic if you like that style has a second set of keycaps for Mac and a Mac setting on the keyboard. Pricey, but pretty neat look if you are into that.

I personally look for keyboards that have open source firmware. I built one of the Infinity 60% boards through Massdrop when available (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/infinity-keyboard-kit), and I loved my Poker 2 keyboard (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823962006). My next board may be one of these via clueboard, though I've not tried them yet. (https://clueboard.co/)

 

I will say that one tip for Mac is to be aware you can re-map the meta keys through your System Preferences, so you don't need to depend on support for CMD to be in the correct spot regardless of the boards hardware mapping. (Though volume +/-/mute key support is key for me personally on my boards.)

I  bought a Das Keyboard 4 Professional for work and recently swapped to a MacBook Pro. It works just fine, and annoys the crap out of my coworker since it has MX blue switches
