Hello, I am a 15 year old and want to build a new pc (as an upgrade to an older prebuilt pc).
Budget & Location : £550, UK
Aim : Gaming - 1080p (Medium) @60fps(>40fps), 3D Animation (Blender)
Monitors : Currently 1 monitor - 1080p@60hz but may upgrade to 2k@120hz/144hz
Peripherals : Already have
Why? Because current pc uses a Sandy Bridge CPU and the GPU can hardly run a game 720p@30fps low settings

Parts I am planning to use:
CPU & iGPU - AMD Ryzen 5 2400g on amazon
GPU : Vega 11 Integrated, as above
Motherboard - Asus Prime B450-Plus ATX on amazon
Memory - Kingston HyperX Fury 1x8gb DDR4-2666 mhz 15 CAS on amazon
Storage - WD 1TB 7200 RPM HDD on amazon
Case - NZXT S340 Elite White on amazon
PSU - be quiet! Straight Power 11 550W 80+ Gold Fully Modular on amazon
Total : £530
PC Part Picker

Why did I choose these parts:
I chose the ryzen 5 2400g because it seems to be the best APU I can find for the price.
I chose the asus mobo because it seemed to be a good motherboard for the price - it seems most am4 budget mobos have some issues?
I chose the ddr4 2666 ram because it seems ryzen cpus benefit from high speed ram.
I chose the be quiet! psu because it is fully modular and the 550w range allows for alot of future upgrades.

Speaking of future upgrades...
After making the build as it is, there are some upgrades I would like to make:
A dedicated GPU... for the better gaming performance -  GTX 1060 6GB -currently retail about £270?
Another stick of ram... so I can run dual channel and 16gb ram is a good amount of ram for most PC builds.
More storage... maybe a ssd as a boot drive and an SSHD?
More fans... An aftermarket CPU cooler with thermal paste and 3 Noctua 140mm fans and 1 120mm fan.

Questions I have:
1. Is the ryzen 5 2400g the best APU for the price range? and performs well when adding dedicated GPU?
2. Is the mobo the best for the price? are there better ones? Will there be any issues with compatibility? such as BIOS, CPU, RAM, etc, etc
3. Will the RAM work well with the Ryzen CPU? I heard some Ryzen CPUs don't work with all RAM?
4. Has the case got good cable management? Good airflow? Fan Mounts? PSU Shroud/ PSU Length? CPU cooler height? GPU length?
5. What is the maximum possible upgrade route for a 550W power supply?
6. Anything else I should be made aware of?

i'd get a cheaper case and PSU, use the money on a used GPU and get a ryzen 1600/2600 instead. don't bother with a hybrid drive, just get an SSD+HDD combo. i'd get an MSI B450-A pro and use the money somewhere else.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

i would go for this any day over a APU build. it is just better at every workload you mentioned

a good quality 400watt PSU will suffice

I've never used a Ryzen CPU personally so cant comment on that but I've made a few changes to your build that would hopefully allow you to get an SSD as this will be a huge performance increase over a HDD. Also going for 2x4GB instead of 1x8GB for the RAM, it'll save a few £ and give you dual channel performance and you'll still be able to upgrade to 16GB in the future if needed. I swapped out the PSU for a Corsair semi modular one. I always use Corsair and it's ~£10 cheaper for the same wattage with the same gold efficiency.

I also swapped out the case but this was purely to save money for the SSD. I haven't used this case but NZXT are pretty solid across the board.

Hope this helps
