So basically i need an animation software that could do something like that: (So i would draw on top of an existing video, and brush strokes would need to be animated)

Capture 002.wmv

So as you can see right now i just drew it and recorded it, but the brush is visible, so that ruins it a bit.

I tried adobe cs5.1 export to video feature, and that didnt work.

I also have adobe flash, but i dont know if you could export a video with no background with it, and it is too much of an hassle for my use case.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

are you doing rotoscopy? o_o

blender has a 2D/planar grease pencil function (heck you can animate 2D in blender) and also does video importing. Not sure of the steps though ,_,

Yeah i could do rotoscoping in the video program, but im looking for something easier, as i just need to draw the lines and have an animation for these lines.

I'll look into blender too.

You could use After Effects for this. There's a tool called trim paths which would work well. I'd personally use Illustrator to create the text and import in to AE, you can then copy the paths from Illustrator in to AE and apply trim paths to them.

Theres lots of tutorial videos oon YouTube for it and you can get the creative cloud trial for a month which will give you access to both programs.

hmm recording strokes without background video and cursor...

this is tricky. most doing these would be using vector paths and animate the strokes in after effects or the like.

just to clarify, you want to draw (<-and record) over a still of a video and export with the video removed?

also what programs do you currently have access to?

(the cursor part, just in case you're using OBS to record, you can turn off the cursor in the display capture settings)

The video would remain as the background.

I got one solution, which would be that i draw the thing i want to appear in photoshop/affinity photo, and then i mask it away in the video editor, and then i would reveal it gradually.

But i worked out a similar method.

If it's not too complex (exactly like drawing on a whiteboard), then any screen recording program would do (drawing against a key colour if you need transparency)

if it's like the video below, record yourself "tracing" the picture (with a bigger brush) in black and then use that video as a mask to reveal the picture

otherwise actual forward drawing (while looking like you have not moved the viewport/canvas) would need a lot of problem solving, especially when you pan/zoom a lot while drawing. not sure how much can the stabiliser tool in the video editor help with moving around the canvas

These are some interesting ideas, i will keep them in mind!
