can you sli GTX 690 in 4 way  and if not why is it a driver thing if we can hack the driver can we make it work

You can only 2 of them in SLi but outside of SLi you can run as many as you want, even more than 4. To hack the driver would take so much effort and it isn't even worth it.

Its a dual GPU card so 2 way sli would technically be 4 way SLI

Games wouldn't be able to take advantage of the extra dual card. Plus I doubt you'd be interested into hacking and buying more 690's

not sure i quite understand the question.. but as the guy above said it's dual gpu, so two 690's in sli is 4 way sli, 4 690's wouldn't really have any merit even if it did work.. which it doesn't.

You could run 4, if not more using extenders, GTX 690 cards on a single computer. You can only SLI two for quad SLI, but you can use as many as you can fit on your motherboard to do other things such as GPU mining.

yeah i don't have the money for that stuff i was just asking is it possible to do it and i know that game won't take advantage from 4 graphics card but just for the sake of benchmark

Benchmarking you could maybe but it's a lot of work breaking down a specific driver to allow more than 2 dual core graphic cards. Plus the amount of wattage being used would be crazy. Dual power supply.

you can have 4 of them, but you can't run more than 2 in sli, if you could just hack the drivers the companies would just let you use 4 of them in the first place, it isn't that easy.

if anything you wouldn't really be able to use it for much..

The 690 consists of two GPU's. So when you run two 690's you practically run them in 4-way SLI.
