Hey there

So earlier on I was gaming on Overwatch. I finished playing, closed the game down and went on Chrome. As I went on Chrome, my PC Blue screened with "System Service Exception." It got to 100% yet never rebooted. I shut the PC down and then it rebooted.

I logged back in (I have Windows 10), and after a few seconds when it was loading my programs, my desktop went black, all icons bar Recycle Bin and one other disappeared and then my screen went black. I got several hexidecimal errors before eventually it all was black.

I rebooted, this time in safe made. Not having a clue what I'm doing, I went into eventvwr to see if there was any issues. There were several errors, including EAPHost failures, WinCache Logs being corrupt and WMI files being created. When I tried to use Avast! It said the UI was broken.

I did a system restore back to two days ago, after my last Windows Update and the error still persisted.

I left it a while and booted again. This time chkdsk wanted a word. I tried cancel it and I got a Bad System Config Info BSOD

I let it restart and do the ckdsk and as I am writing it is trying to do an automatic repair.

Any idea of what the issue can be and how I can fix it?

Since you can't boot in safe mode a essential file was corrupted make sure to check your storage for errors after formatting

@Lordclouds Any clue what can cause this corruption? I don't have a Win 10 disk or license key as a PC repair shop installed it for me. What can I do? How can I connect my PC to another?

Issues with the storage device. A virus and bad drivers can cause this issue. Take the hard drive out and connected to another pc or if you don't care about installing windows again just format the storage device and check for issues then proceed to install windows

Okay, so this got worse as the night went on. Eventually it would not boot at all

I ended up having to use the ISO to wipe and reinstall Windows. No issues so far.

I'm just wondering what the cause could have been. I know the last Windows Update wasn't the cleanest and apparently delayed data. So maybe it was that?

There are a lot of things that could've caused this so there is no concrete answer

Mmm. It's annoying as I've been having issues beforehand. Thought I finally got them fixed.

It wasn't these errors though, but it was Hard Drive corruption. Never known the cause for any of them.

Ok make sure not to turn it off during updates, and download safe files.
