I'm very interested in the game. I bought the game. But I keep dying and have no idea how to get started. Are there any experienced players on here willing to help me out?

It's all trial and error, learn from your mistakes and avoid everyone you can't 100% trust.

I cant seem to find anything useful. Is anyone willing to show me where to get useful things and how to use them?

Its a dog eat dog world.

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only a GTX 1080, just a single 1080, where my glorious PC once stood....

For that is all I need, For the Emperor of Man, Jen-Hsun Huang, protects. We march for Nvidia, and we shall know no fear!

Map of where things spawn in DayZ SA.  You should spawn on the coast, east of Cheno, make your way to Elektro or Cherno and start looking in all the buildings for loot.  Soda cans are near useless, find a water pump as soon as possible and drink until you are full then keep water bottles and canteens.  Rip your shirt up to make rags to stop bleeding when you get hit, make sure to eat enough food as well.

Do not, I repeat, do not go to electro or cheno unless you have weapons and are with another person. Get away from the coast and stay away. When you spawn you're facing north (inland) east is on your right, south is behind you out to sea, west is to your left. Don't go upto northwest airfield, its a death trap. Nothing but bandits and snipers. Stay off paved, main roads. They are marked red on the dayzdb map.

Try and head to the north east airfield. Afew weapons and most people don't venture up that far. I ran from electro right upto the top right of the map. It can be done but its risky without food or water.

First thing to do is head inland, search afew small towns for food/water. Get yourself an axe. The big long farm sheds often contain good clothes and weapons like the firemans axe.

Good luck. See if you can befriend someone. Try resist the urge to kill every person you see or to become a bandit. Had to shoot someone yesturday, only because he tried to shoot me first.

Good luck.

I haven't yet bought the game but will probably do once more friends got it. How big is the actual map of the game? It seems huge to me.

To the character size ratio its about 30sq km. Itll takr close to 2hours to reach the map end to end.

A little update. Ran around for about 3 hours collecting decent gear and a revolved, only to get 1 shot sniped :(
