hey guys looking for some advice.

 

i wanna get a new monitor .looking for something in the£500 bracket and 4k any recommendations.

So for that budget with a 4k res, you're ok with having around 60Hz-75Hz right?

honestly i dont know alote about . i just play games like wow and forza and have started palying far cry and im sick of using a tiny 2o inch tv

You need to learn about the difference in monitors so you can understand what you need/want. We can advise you to buy cheap 4k 30hz monitor that's 8 years old, claiming its the best money can buy and you'll buy it because you're lacking understanding what you want or what's out there.

I'll break a little bit of it down for you.

 

Higher Hz means it has a higher refresh rate. Refresh rate is how many times the monitor refreshes the image for you in a single second. 

So 144Hz will look a lot smoother and "perform" better than a 60Hz.

 

The 4k Res you want will most likely cap in the 60-75(if you can OC the monitor) range for your 500 bucks.

 

The larger screen is just a size difference but it also has to do with your ppi (pixels per inch) so make sure if you're wanting a 24" or 27" or maybe higher.

 

You'll also want to look at IPS vs TN panels. IPS usually shows "better" color accuracy, but if you don't care too much about that than you can get a TN panel. 

 

You'll also want to look at GSync if you use an Nvidia GPU, though I doubt youll find one within your budget, so you'll be looking for FreeSync.
