PC Build - Is This OK?

Should be.

Now I'm here with only the 2 fans that comes with the case, a 250gb ssd and everything else for (+tax) : $1,169.45. If only the OEM W10 was cheaper...

Hello. So I have considered building my own PC since a lot of people from the forums say that building is way better than buying a pre-built PC. I was wondering if this build would be a good or bad build. I am not a hardcore gamer. I just want to have a long lasting PC that is great for casual gaming (OW, LOL, Minecraft occasionally, etc) and school work/youtube videos.

SPECS (I put the price from amazon + tax -> Maybe this build is too expensive??)

EVGA - GTX 1060 3GB SC Gaming Single Fan Graphics Card- $251.81

ASUS - Prime B350M-A Motherboard - $84.33

AMD - Ryzen 5-1500x Processor- $157.50

Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8gb) DDR4 2666 MHz - $146.73

EVGA - 500W B1 - 80+ Bronze PSU - $42.97

WD - Blue 1TB 7200RPM HD- $49.99

Samsung - 860 EVO 250GB SSD - $60.86

Cooler Master - MCW-L3B3-KANN-01 Masterbox Lite 3.1 (Mini Tower) PC Case- $46.73

ASUS - VG248QE 24" Full HD 1920x1080 144Hz 1ms HDMI Gaming Monitor - $298.91

(If needed, a wireless internet adapter -> Could anyone recommend me one?)

(Do I need more fans??)

TOTAL : $1,139.83 - I want to to keep my max price for everything around $1200.00

Is this build for this price good or should I change a couple pieces of hardware?

That's pretty overpriced for that system.

You should be able to get a Ryzen 5 1600 and a 1060 6GB system for that price.

Change to a 1060 6GB or an RX 580.

If you're just going to play MC, I'd settle on a 2200G along with a 1050Ti. Cheap, and will do the job. Will also save you money.

Just looked up the 6gb for 1060 and the Ryzen 5 1600. Both were around $30 more than the ones I listed above. And I don't really plan on playing MC a lot. I'm probably going to play games similar to OW and other FPS games.

The PSU is just not good. Something like a BeQuiet PurePower 10, Corsair CX series or Coolermaster Master Watt (not lite) would do nicely.

Should I get this for my PSU then? : https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-Non-Modular-Supply-Bronze-Certified/dp/B0092ML0OC?keywords=corsair+cx+series&qid=1539064096&s=Electronics&sr=1-1&ref=sr_1_1

I had just a couple more questions since some of the parts I picked out seems to be not all the greatest of this year.

1) Should I get a better case than the one listed above as it only comes with one fan. If so, what do you recommend?

2) Is it worth the extra $20 to go from Ryzen 5 1500x to Ryzen 5 1600?

3) Should the PSU that I get be modular or not? (Or semi?)

4) Should I get a different cooler than the one that comes with the 1500x/1600? (Wraith Cooler)

Rx580 would be a better choice, considering the monitor that I have selected supports free sync.

So, u can take advantage of free sync.

I wont be overclocking as I'm not too familiar with overclocking in general (I could if I learn of course)  I'm just trying to find a good build + monitor that'll last long. I'm really wanting to stick to the gtx 1060 3/6gb and the Asus vg248qe so :(

How is this? @vexicus365 @brob

I took the other monitor cause I realized i don't need such an expensive monitor and apparently, the acer one is actually very good for gaming and daily use.

I took the 2666MHz ram cause I don't need the fastest stuff :P

Should I change the motherboard or should I keep the one listed above?

(If I need anything else/edit, pls reply!)

So I just looked at that build, kept the same 24 inch monitor and kept the same case. Everything else, i changed according to your list. When I put in the tax % into the price, the total went $40 over the $1200 line that I have. I really don't think i'll need 8gb for the 580; Would 4gb be fine with the 580? I wont be going ultra texture or something in games that I play.

The RX 580 is not "better" than the GTX 1060 6GB.

What is the basis of the claim that the XF270H Bbmiprzx is better than the GN246HL?

A400 ssd has poorer performance than 860 Evo.

Build does not include cost of Windows 10 license or WiFi.

@brob I have well, edited my build according to the price limit that I have (Lowest possible from $1200.00) But anyways, I have spent like 10 hours trying to find the best build for me. And I think I may have found it. I went with the 75Hz monitor since the price was going over my limit. I then of course took the 570 4gb instead of the 580 4gb b/c theres no need for a better gpu that won't even show the difference in performance if the display can't show it. Next I went ahead and lowered the storage amount. (Is the 450W enough for all this? I have a feeling i'll need a 500W even though I wont OC) Take a look:

(+ Tax = $1162.59)
