Today in the morning when I turned my PC on everything seemed fine until about 20 minutes later my screen went black and it said there was no connection. So I clicked the restart button on my case and it booted up until the screen when it asks for my password, then it turned off again. At this point I looked at my PC and noticed that everything was still running and working except for my GPU. I'm not sure what the problem is as when I googled to see if others had similar issues some said it was the PSU. I built this PC about a year ago and everything was working fine until a couple of weeks ago when I started getting notifications on CAM that my GPU had exceeded 81°C. At first I thought it was that the case was to cramped and the GPU wasnt getting enough air so I bought a new case (Corsair Crystal series 460x) and transferred everything over. I also bought an NZXT Kraken x52 for my CPU. After I checked that everything was good to go I set up a custom fan curve for my GPU so that if it hits 70°C it will ramp up to 100% fan speed. Ok so this seemed to have worked as I had no issues for a week. Then after playing Dragon Quest 11 at the highest settings for about 3 hours I noticed that I had a CAM notification that my GPU had exceeded 84°C. So at this point  I decided it was time to water cool my GPU. I decided to not play any games until the water cooling kit arrives. But as I said in the beginning, today my GPU just completely shuts off before I can even log on. I never overclocked my GPU either. My full Specs:
CPU: Ryzen 1700x
MB: Msi b350 tomahawk artic

RAM: Corsair LED 16g 2400mhz
GPU: MSI The Duke OC 1080ti
PSU: EVGA 650w 80 plus Gold
NZXT Hue+ (4 rgb fans)
NZXT Kraken x52 (using the Hue+ fans)

Did you oc your system? If yes, first thing I would do is disable the oc for cpu and gpu.

NM I should leard to read....

I have no experience with that msi card but the cooler looks beefy and should keep the gpu under 84c. Did you notice any performance hit from clock throttling?

If you didn't oc the gpu it might be worth to remove the cooler and check the condition of the thermal paste. Maybe it has gone bad - could explain the temps.

Also do the generic stuff: Undo any latest software changes (driver, os update etc). Reinstall all the drivers and check for proper cable connection.

If you find any grammar or spelling errors please fill out entry permit A38, thanks.
